Aisle Types
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These machinery can turn in an aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn in the aisle. There are several aisle widths to take into account with various models.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks work in less than 6 feet areas and often utilize particular guidance systems such as rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel within the aisles. Several various models of VNA trucks include Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are common models in compact retail spaces and in several warehouse and storage situations.
NA or Narrow Aisle trucks are able to operate in aisles that are 8 feet to 10 feet. Normally these are stand-up units such as Reach Trucks. They are often utilized in storage facilities and warehouses.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work within aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is designed to reduce operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is large and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body fatigue by easing frequent exit and entry. The unit consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat together with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and hence more effective while limiting fatigue.
