Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They can run using gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many uses. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that can be changed out when the machinery should be refueled.
So as to avoid possible serious injury, certain safety measures should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for instance: be certain to put on the correct safety equipment like heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Make certain that you turned off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
