Caterpillar Reach Stackers Houston

A reach stacker is a vehicle meant to handle the movement of containerized cargo within medium and small-sized ports and terminals. Reach stackers are truly ideal for quickly shuttling containers short distances and stacking them in rows.



Because of their flexibility, reach stackers are a common choice for handling intermodal cargo containers. They are capable of stacking higher than forklift trucks. With a reach stacker capable of second row access, container blocks could be kept four-deep.



Designed only to handle empty containers is a different type of stacker.



Kinds of Forklift Reach

Usually used on construction environments is a type of forklift known as forklift reach. It is outfitted with really large tires which provide great stability on uneven terrain and a boom. The forklift reach is available in the following variations:



The Stand-Up Reach has a narrow width that makes it suitable for racked pallet storage.



The straddle Reach has hydraulic-like scissors attachments and outriggers attached at the front.



The Double-Deep Reach is outfitted with an extended reach device allowing the storage of pallets in double-deep racks.
