Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck often goes by other names such as: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of equipment are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk alongside the machine while they pick up and move cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the right answer if you are looking for an inexpensive way of transporting cargo from one location to another. If though, you must move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is specially made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which can work in aisles of less than six feet. They are very useful pieces of equipment during cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
