Most accidents are attributed to employees who are not trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that staff who are using the forklift are trained in risks and safety. Never let anyone on a forklift who isn't correctly trained to use the forklift. Your business must develop and post in a visible place all forklift safety measures.
Rather than going through training because staff are required to, they should have a positive attitude in doing so. You as the employer must help staff know the importance of correct training. Let them understand that they could injure or kill not only themselves, but other individuals, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to ensure that your staff undertake training seriously.
